Senior Software Developer - C# 

​As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for taking a lead role on on-going projects, supporting other members of the development team to create, develop and support our suite of leading commercial radio software. Working alongside the Head of Development, the Senior Software Developer is expected to help guide development projects through to a successful conclusion.

Responsibilities will involve all aspects of software design, development, testing and deployment and will both tax and challenge the very best full stack software developer.
Our tech stack blends a number of legacy technologies, with the very latest in cloud computing. If you’re fluent in C#  and experienced in AWS, GitHub, docker and related technology then you will feel right at home with us.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • To support Junior Developers in the team, mentoring and guiding through issues 
  • To provide a senior point of reference within the team dynamic
  • To aid in the full systems development life cycle from requirements capturing through design and development to delivery
  • To have full responsibility for coding micro-services with interoperability with the entire system stack through managed API interfaces
  • To work with the Development Manager in the prioritisation of development tasks and the execution of these tasks with high-quality deliverables
  • To address problem-solving in the broadest context, and coming at problems with innovative and thinking outside-the-box 
  •  To work closely with our customer services team to understand any issues that customers experience with the software, to determine the optimum solution to these problems, and deliver high quality code to address these

Experience & Attributes Required
  • Extensive commercial software development experience
  • Experience with C# or similar object-oriented programming language
  • Experience in the full stack of software development including database design, UI, security, performance and quality of code 
  • Experience in software development within the media sector ideal but not required
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Keenness to mentor Junior Developers
  • An innovator and self-starter who works well in a team but highly proficient as an individual

We are looking for an experienced software product designer to put ‘Design’ and the ‘User Experience’ at the heart of our leading media planning & scheduling products.  You are both artist and scientist who will obsess over the details and develop concepts and design alternatives for all our products so as to create a family of software that users readily embrace.  Your mission will be simply to design great software that our users absolutely fall in love with, and which they will derive the greatest pleasure from using. 

Your Role
  • Working with product managers, to design the ideal user journeys for all types of users, translating their business requirements into a very high-quality UX experience.
  • Great empathy for the user journey, their challenges and aspirations.
  • A heavy emphasis on user interface design with an instinct and passion for visual design purity.
  • The ability to define visual interfaces that adhere to and extend the defined wireframes and specifications.
  • Create and communicate end-to-end scenarios, interaction models, and screen designs to users both internally and without our customers and partners.
  • Evangelize new interface guidelines and design patterns.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team.
  • Ability to think beyond the user interface to touch brands and marketing.

Experience & Attributes Required
  • A rich portfolio demonstrating your experience and flair in software application design (rather than website design).
  • A minimum of 3 years of UX - or that can prove to us that you’re really special.
  • Absolute fluency in Sketch & Zeplin with a masterful ability to quickly develop wireframe alternatives.
  • Ability to clearly express yourself both in person and on paper (or a whiteboard board if that’s your thing).
  • Experience in developing using React.js so that you will know the capability and limitations of React.  However, you’re not expected to be an expert in React, or a coder, since the team comprises dedicated front-end React developers.
  • Abstracting alternative versions of the software design for running on desktop or mobile devices.
  • To work with as team comprising product managers, front-end and full stack C# developers, leading all aspects of product design and UX. You will be our God of Design and the Chief Design Authority for all our product.
  • Ability to understand and possibly challenge business requirements so that a new and compelling user experience can be brought to bear upon what may be established business practices.
  • A 1st or 2:1 degree from a good university in a software design-related discipline.

Senior Front-End Developer

Senior Front-End Developer

We are looking for a great JavaScript developer who is proficient with React (our preferred library), Angular, or Node. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.

  • Working with product managers, to design the ideal user journeys for all types of users of our software and translating these into a very high-quality UI experience.
  • Developing the new UI using React.js
  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use

Skills / Attributes Required

Senior Software Quality Assurance Practitioner

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software QA Practitioner, working from our Amersham office who will be responsible for requirements analysis, test planning activities, test case automation and execution of critical test cases/scripts required to ensure that our software meets business requirements. Functional Testing levels may include application integration, system, system/network integration and acceptance testing; may also include non-functional testing such as performance, volume, load and fallback. 
 
This individual will have experience both of working within established QA teams, as well as experience in creating from greenfield a team of QA engineers committed to best practices.

  • Working with senior management to create our policies and processes to ensure best practices in software quality assurance
  • Develop manual and automated test plans and scenarios
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge in order to advise on risks and quality improvements
  • Evangelize automation and assist other QA team members through mentorship, tutorials, and writing scripts to speed up their manual testing efforts
  • Partner with cross-functional core stakeholders across Product Development & Product Management to lead the QA direction, facilitate key technical decision points
  • Ability to commit to road maps with capabilities and timelines using the agile methodology for new product, technology evaluation, and introduction

  • Define quality assurance requirements and performance benchmarks for multiple sets of major product components as necessary
  • Work closely with Product & Engineering to ensure that all deadlines and goals are met, as well as quality software is released on schedule
 
Skills / Attributes Required
  • 7+ yrs. experience in Testing organisation with 3+ yrs. experience as Scrum Master/Release Test Manager 
  • 5+ Hands on experience working on test planning, coordination and status reporting of projects from initiation to implementation 
  • Expertise in Developing and execution of project test plans with milestones and ensures that the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders 
  • Knowledge to provide guidance and subject matter expertise to engineers on Automation, Testing and QA processes, assists in preparation of test strategies including test data and test environment 
  • Expertise in the review process of user story backlog and requirements specifications and provides recommendations Plans and defines testing approach 
  • Hands on experience managing the definition, implementation, and integration of quality principles into the design and development of software and IT processes for the team
  • 5+ years’ experience in design, monitoring, and analysis of testing quality metrics such as defect, defect counts, test results, and test status 
  • Good knowledge on automation tools like Selenium/UFT and should be able to determine the need, selection and implementation of automation tools
  • Must have good knowledge on SDLC and QA process and should we well-versed with agile testing reporting tools like Jenkins, Rally, JIRA, ALM, Clarity, Sharepoint, Confluence etc. 
  • Must have active CSM and Safe agilest certification
  • A 1st or 2:1 degree from a good university in a computing-related discipline
