4 x Full-Stack Software Engineer
 
We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer who is fluent with both our back-end and front-end environments to work as part of a highly skilled team to create compelling business applications that our customers fall in love with.  Working in one of our 4 agile development teams, you will be responsible for the green-field development of application modules that address our customers critical business needs. You will ensure that application modules are efficient, scalable, easy to use, robust and are easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participating in the design and creation of green-field software
  • Working as part of an agile development team, to write clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
  • Design of underlying databases, end-points, API’s and structures to enable the component of the application to engage most efficiently.
  • Developing the new UI using React.js
  • Building reusable components and libraries for future use
  • Working closely with our QA Team on implementing their testing strategy, fixing bugs or other coding issues
  • To work with the Development Manager in the prioritisation of development tasks and the execution of these tasks with high-quality deliverables
  • To address problem-solving in the broadest context, and coming at problems with innovative and thinking outside-the-box 
 
Experience & Attributes Required
  • You should have a minimum 3 years experience with C# (our back-end development environment)
  • Should you have a minimum 18 months experience with a front-end java script framework (ideally, React.js but would consider Node / Vue)
  • Ideally, you will have experience developing on AWS, ideally using core AWS components such as Cognito, Fargate, Lambda and others.
  • You will have come from a software development organisation building business-critical systems.  You most likely started as a back-end engineer but have developed a capability in middleware and front-end.
  • You should have a B.Sc in Computer Science (or equivalent computing degree) from a good university
  • Other attributes we are looking at would include;
  • - Experience of working within Design Systems, such as Storyboard.
  • - Experience of working within a microservices architecture
  • - Experience in developing and taking-in front-end specifications using tools such as Sketch, Abstract, UXPin and Zeplin.
  • - Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
  • - Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • - Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
  • - Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools (Jira, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
  • - Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • - Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.​

QA Engineer 
We are looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer, working within our QA team who will be responsible for requirements analysis, test planning activities, test case automation and execution of critical test cases/scripts required to ensure that our software meets business requirements. Functional Testing levels may include application integration, system, system/network integration and acceptance testing; may also include non-functional testing such as performance, volume, load and fallback.

 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Working with our Head of QA to design and implement our policies and processes to ensure best practices in software quality assurance
  • Develop manual and automated test plans and scenarios
  • Develop in-depth product knowledge in order to advise on risks and quality improvements
  • Evangelise automation and assist other QA team members through mentorship, tutorials, and writing scripts to speed up their manual testing efforts
  • Partner with cross-functional core stakeholders across Product Development & Product Management to lead the QA direction and facilitate key technical decision points
  • Ability to commit to road maps with capabilities and timelines using the agile methodology for new product, technology evaluation, and introduction
  • Align QA to business strategy, and proactively drive a product development direction throughout the company
  • Work with the agile team to support product launch and rollout activities
  • Conduct internal communication of planned QA activities; reporting status of the activities to internal teams
  • Identify gaps in the quality assurance and testing processes, generate solutions, and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate to ensure high quality, timely product releases
  • Reproduce client issues and work with developers to resolve
  • Recommend and implement process improvement
  • Manage any direct reports, helping them juggle multiple projects and manage their time on short- and long-term projects
  • Support the long-term career development of any direct reports; helping them build their skills in software testing
  • Define quality assurance requirements and performance benchmarks for multiple sets of major product components as necessary
  • Work closely with Product & Engineering to ensure that all deadlines and goals are met, as well as quality software is released on schedule
 
Experience & Attributes Required
​
  • 5+ Hands on experience working on test planning, coordination and status reporting of projects from initiation to implementation 
  • Expertise in developing and execution of project test plans with milestones and ensures that the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders 
  • Knowledge to provide guidance and subject matter expertise to engineers on Automation, Testing and QA processes, assists in preparation of test strategies including test data and test environment 
  • Expertise in the review process of user story backlog and requirements specifications and provides recommendations Plans and defines testing approach 
  • Hands on experience managing the definition, implementation, and integration of quality principles into the design and development of software and IT processes for the team
  • Extensive experience in design, monitoring, and analysis of testing quality metrics such as defect, defect counts, test results, and test status 
  • Good knowledge on automation tools like Selenium/UFT and should be able to determine the need, selection and implementation of automation tools
  • Must have good knowledge on SDLC and QA process and should we well-versed with agile testing reporting tools like Jenkins, Rally, JIRA, ALM, Clarity, Sharepoint, Confluence etc. 
  • Must have active CSM and Safe agilest certification
  • A 1st or 2:1 degree from a good university in a computing-related discipline
